In 2012, Jill was awarded a post-doctoral research fellowship by Claremont Graduate University School of Arts and Humanities to produce and compile a documentary series of CGU professors, professors emeritus, and alumni entitled, “In Their Own Words: Oral Histories of CGU Art.” The project featured interviews and original works of Karl Benjamin, Roland Reiss, Michael Brewster, Connie Zehr, Mowry Baden, Ted Kerzie, and John Frame, and was showcased in the CGU Art Peggy Phelps Gallery and East Gallery in an interactive exhibition designed and curated by Thayer. https://jillthayer.wordpress.com/2012/12/08/in-their-own-words-oral-histories-of-cgu-art/

Jill Thayer Galleries at the Fox, Bakersfield, CA (1994 – 2009) exhibited regional and international multi-media artists, and received critical review. Moving beyond the gallery space, Jill continues to offer new perspectives in the contemporary dialogue as an independent curator and consultant. She is curator and archivist for Estrella Warbirds Museum in Paso Robles, CA, and works with academic and cultural institutions in Arts advocacy and education for the Arts.
